Colin Nagle
Guardian ad Litem
Colin Nagle is a professionally qualified and CORU-registered Social Worker with over a decade of experience working directly with children and families across Ireland and the United Kingdom. Colin has extensive experience in court-related work, including the preparation of detailed reports and assessments, and the provision of professional evidence. Colin has demonstrated expertise in child centred assessment, safety planning, risk management, and therapeutic intervention, utilising evidence based practice models such as Signs of Safety and Trauma-Informed Practice.
Colin has overseen complex cases involving court proceedings, multi-agency collaboration, risk management, and child protection planning. Colin maintains high standards of professional practice and continually develops his professional knowledge, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, guidelines, and protocols, while ensuring the consistent implementation of best practice and evidence based models.
Colin has worked extensively with families experiencing complex and challenging circumstances, using the Signs of Safety framework to collaboratively develop practical safety plans aimed at preventing further harm to children. Colin has managed complex caseloads, balancing crisis intervention with long-term safety planning, with a strong emphasis on building naturally connected support networks to safeguard children within the family unit.
Colin has authored comprehensive reports for court proceedings and child protection conferences, providing clear safeguarding recommendations and ensuring that the voice of the child is central to all assessments. Colin is a strong advocate for children’s rights and works to ensure their views are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
